Black and White Prints

A rather unexpected trend is rising after several designers introduced black and white prints as part of their spring 2010 collection. After Undrest made a black and white halter bikini that stole everyone’s attention, you can see several more black and white prints on this season’s collections.

Resort 2010 features a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta black and white dress that also caught everyone’s attention. The dress features great silhouette-building lines and a matching black waistline belt to complete the look. Despite the fact that most of this season’s collections are colorful, we can’t deny how beautiful and neutral black and white can be.

Twinkle by Wenlan also features a spectacular black and white silk top in their latest collection. Other than being highly comfortable to wear and touchy, the printed — black and white stripes — top looks fabulous when combined with denims or black leggings.

The dotted volume skirt by Louis Vuitton is also interesting. Although the $2,395 might make this piece a little less accessible for most of us, the volume skirt does look great in black and white. Throw in Emilio Pucci’s black and white canvas bag, and we have one gorgeous look in an instant.

Handbag is a very important fashion element that completes the look you are pursuing. If you want to buy quality handbags for less, go for lookalikes and not fakes. Although fakes might have most of the original’s features — including counterfeited brand logo — the build quality is generally lower. Lookalikes, on the other hand, are inspired by the original designers’ item; you can still get a handbag that looks just like the original for less.

Make sure the bag you are getting is functional and not just stylish. You would want to see the kind and quantity of items you are carrying and find bags that fits you perfectly. Don’t forget to consider color and accents (lace, straps, etc.) to make sure the handbag suits your look just great.

Last but not least, compare! There are hundreds, even thousands, of handbags available on the market today. Search for several alternatives before deciding the best one for you.
