Wedding Fashion Traditions

There’s a lot more to wedding traditions than just the ceremony and traditions at the reception. Sure enough, one of the most iconic things about a wedding is the wedding cake. That is one of the things that people will remember the most, and mostly because of its looks and not for the way it tastes. Indeed, there are a lot of traditions at wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions that don’t serve a specific purpose, but are only there for looks and because of their symbolic value. For example, the bride and groom don’t need to cut the wedding cake together and feed it to one another, but it represents their first act together as a married couple and their wish to care for one another.

Another thing that doesn’t seem to serve a practical purpose but is there in most weddings, at least western weddings, is the wedding garter. Wedding garters used to be necessary to keep the bride’s stockings up and looking pretty, but nowadays they serve no purpose. But they are deeply rooted in tradition, to the point that some people claim that weddings keep some garter manufacturers in business. And all in all, a wedding is an iconic event, so there’s nothing wrong with having iconic traditions.

London’s Street Trend

The new season is coming real, and fashion lovers around the world are keeping up with the upcoming spring 2010 trends just as fast. Women in London are no different, with some of the latest street chic styles already showing in most part of the busy city. We take a closer look at what’s hip in the area, and here are several points that we found.

Jackets, blazers, and boyfriend jackets are really popular among women in the area. You will see black, beige, or white pieces in most part of the city. With soft shirts and casual tees being the most popular inlays, the look can be highly professional or casual depending on the occasion.

Mini dresses are also quite popular. The pieces are more colorful and highly spiced up, with leggings and pattered leggings as well as tights being the most popular choice of bottoms. Pair these pieces with ankle boots or high heels, and you will look gorgeous for any occasion.

Although denim and skinny jeans are highly popular in some part of the world, we don’t see many London women wearing these particular pieces that much. Go with denim leggings instead, with t-shirt and jacket or blazer, if you want to look more casual.
